In force since 2012, at the Mabu Thermas Grand Resort, the Sustainability Management Policy has as its main objective the possibility of reducing impacts and positively transforming the hotel sector.

Acting in different spheres (social, environmental, economic and cultural), we list below the progress in the management of the Sustainability policy in 2017.

- Since January 2017, the resort has replaced electricity consumption and the daily use of its diesel electric power generators with the purchase of renewable energy from the Electra Group, on the open market. This action generated, for the period of 2017, a reduction of 130 thousand liters in diesel consumption and a 39% reduction in the amount referring to energy consumption. This is equivalent to more than 6 thousand tons of CO2 not emitted into the atmosphere, referring to the energy consumption of Mabu Thermas Grand Resort and Mabu Curitiba Express. This is also equivalent to 3,412 trees, an amount that would be necessary to neutralize emissions if the replacement with the so-called green energy were not made.

- in the middle of 2017, the resort reduced gas consumption by 15% by modernizing the hot water thermal plant. In addition, the use of a solar system saves 50% of gas supplies from 210 apartments. For the other 154 apartments, this reduction is around 10%, but is expected to reach 40% soon.

- public waste generated at the resort is 100% tracked and disposed of correctly.
- Currently, 72% of Mabu Thermas' product suppliers are local.

- customer satisfaction is 90%.

- among other actions, 130 children from CMEI João de Aquino school and 31 children of employees were at the resort to participate in cultural and entertainment activities with the recreation team.
NOVELTY! This is the third time that Mabu Thermas has been recognized by Braztoa (Brazilian Association of Tour Operators) for its sustainability actions and initiatives. Based on continuous improvements, the Sustainability Management policy (implemented in 2011), also presents results related to the training of employees and the community, reduction of accidents and consumption of natural resources.

Mabu Thermas is also the first resort in Brazil certified by ABNT (Brazilian Association of Technical Standards) in standard NBR 15401, which assesses the environmental, economic and socio-cultural areas, being recertified annually, after an external audit.
