Waterfalls of Iguaçu
No wonder Foz is known as the Land of the Falls! There are 275 waterfalls up to 80 meters high, located within the Iguaçu National Park, with the largest cataracts in the world in volume, with an average of 1.3 million liters per second! In the tour, you will have a very close contact with the fauna and flora, through trails and walks in the woods. It is possible to get to know the falls on both the Brazilian and Argentine side, contemplating different visuals and taking advantage of the experience.
Surrounded by hundreds of species of local fauna and flora, the Macuco Safari is a tour that starts with a trail in the Atlantic Forest and ends in a boat near the falls of the Falls, entitled to a “bath” to refresh.
The Park, as well as the Falls, is located within the Iguaçu National Park and is one of the largest in Latin America. The walk consists of a walk in the native Atlantic Forest, on trails that lead to nurseries of more than 1,000 birds of 200 species – 50% of birds were rescued from trafficking and ill-treatment, while 43% were born within the park itself. The site has some observation ponds and others where visitor entrance is allowed, as well as a souvenir shop and a snack bar. The visit is a must see for nature lovers!
Itaipu Hydroelectric Power Plant
Located on the border between Brazil and Paraguay, on the Paraná River, Itaipu is one of the largest engineering works in the modern world and the largest hydroelectric plant in the world in terms of energy production. The site offers several types of tickets, each with a different route within the plant. The visit is very interesting for all tastes and ages, as it offers attractions related to engineering, technology, nature, astronomy and history.
Three Borders Framework
The landmark was recently revitalized and is where Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay meet. It has a structure in Foz do Iguaçu, one in Ciudad del Este and the other in Puerto Iguazú, with the colors of each country. The tour takes tourists on a trip back in time on the clearing of the region and is perfect for those who like to know more about history.
